FAP (Forumer Admin Panel) Set-up

FAP Tutorial: Registration and set up.

Registering for a FAP (Forumer Admin Panel) account:

This process is quite simple. This is the step by step guide on how to register your forum for extra protection. Not only you get protection, if you accidentally demote yourself, for gets hacked, or somehow lose the admin account on your forum, you can restore your admin account back. NOTE: If your forum does get hacked into (or whatever the case may be) and you do not have an FAP account, Forumer cannot restore your forum for you. You will have to make sure that you register for a FAP account and start over again.

Here is the step-by-step detailed instructions:

1) Click on the following link: http://www.forumer.com/fap.php

2) If you are the OWNER of the forum (registered under your name), click on "Create a Forum Owner Account". If you are a forum admin (but not the OWNER), click on "Create a Forum Administrator Account"

3) Fill out the required info. (board name URL, security code, etc.) If you do not have your forum's security code, you can request one here. This will be sent to THE OWNER'S E-MAIL ADDRESS. Be sure to check your spam folders if you are using a free e-mail client such as: Gmail or Yahoo.

3) Under FAP account info, this will be your FAP account user name. This will also be your log-in and password for the system.

4) Once you have registered, it should take you to the main page again. Log-in with your user name and pass, and you should see that your forum is added to the system.

From there, you will see a drop down, and a button that says "Make admin". Select your name, and click "Make admin" This is what you do if your admin status was to disappear one day. You can also restore or make other people an admin at your board.
