First Step - Create The Private Forum
Admin CP -> Forum Control -> New Forum.
From this point select all the options you wish to select on your forum settings, once you've selected all that scroll down until you get to the main heading Permission Access Levels. Now ONLY check mark the box's for the user group you wish to be able to Read, Reply, Start, and Upload in each forum. Once you've completed setting each forums permission to be only viewable by the selected user groups click on the Create this forum button.

Note: If you've already created the forum and don't wish to re-make it then you can set it to become a private forum via: Admin CP -> Forum Control -> Manage Forums. Now click on the Permissions link for the forum you wish to turn into a private forum, edit the permission's for the user groups you with to be able to Read, Reply, Start, and Upload in each forum.
Once you've completed setting each forums permission to be only viewable by the selected user groups click on the Edit this forum button.
